Let's hope a few bad apples don't spoil the whole bunch. I just got a letter from a reader of Home Energy raving about his positive experience with HERS and RESNET. I think that is most typical. Pat, whether or not 48 is a good score depends on which scoring system your rater used. In the newer system, where "0" means you have a zero-energy house and "100" is a standard new house, 48 is pretty darn good. In the old system, the higher the number the better the house. A 48 would be a pretty poor score. I'm hoping you had your home rated under the newer system! I did take a look at the link you suggested, Kurt.
