Hi Amy, So cool to see your note about this on the TBB news, when I got home from vacation with my 9 year old twins. You will all be fine I'm sure, though it will take time. Remember that this is the hardest part. I only did bedrest for one long weekend, but I remember it being rotten (by Monday a.m. I was waiting in my OB's office, for her to check me out herself, and retract the bedrest orders (she did). I was one of the earliest members of the "twins club" and have really loved the support and friendship the group has given me over the years. I hope you get lots of the same. So many of "us" have gone through similar trials, including one of my best pals now, whose girls were preemie, and are now big strapping troublemaking, fun, 9 year olds, just like mine! Carrie

Hi Amy,

I just happened to turn on the TV and so your segment on pre-term birth. It was great as usual. You're willingness to put forward your struggles forward is a great gift to the rest of us. By the way, having spent time in a hospital I can tell you that the words "hospital" and "relax" rarely belong in the same sentence. But do rest as best as you can.

Well, hang in there, Amy. Think of the bed rest as a new job you are doing - temporarily. I had twins who were 2 weeks premature, low birth weight, (3lbs, 13oz, and 4lbs, 10oz) who were fine, and are now 33 years old. One is a mom herself now. You and your man will both be very busy for a while when the babies arrive, but there is a good thing about twins - they have a built in playmate! Enjoyed your segment on the rise of premie births; it was food for though especially since there were no neat answers for the questions that were raised.

I want to be home, with my man, preparing for the arrival of our twins

Consider it a division of labor, (all puns intended). It's not like he's gonna carry the babies, and you're not going to be building baby-room furniture. Think of it as allowing each of your to do what you do best. ;)

BTW, get off the !@#$! computer, and pick up Harry Potter... either that, or I'm sure Oprah has something riveting on to watch.

My best wishes to you and your new family! It must have been distressing for you to do the your last segment about preemies.
I look forward to hearing more good news, both the excellent work you do on Quest, and on the homefront.

I love watching Quest, and what a nice personal touch to have you pregnant with "multiples" (what a term!) and researching premature births! I don't have children but am still intrigued by your pregnancy and wish you and your babies lots of good luck!
